Weekend Review & The First Youth Night EVER.

It's always an interesting experience reflecting week to week on the service and how it went...evaluating the good the bad and the ministry. Yesterday was crazy as I left the house a little after 7am and didn't get home until a little after 8pm. I lead at the morning service and then hung around and lead at the youth group that night. It was the 1st youth night under the "Harvest York Region" banner see here and here for an explanation. There were around 25 youth there which was so encouraging as the forecast numbers I heard were all between 10-18...Praise the Lord. As I was walking into my room last night, I just stopped and was overwhelmed by the Lord's faithfulness. What a God that I serve that would allow me the privilege to serve Him and strengthen me to do His work. Watching God at work is the most powerful experience anyone could ever have.

In terms of the service, it went very well. After talking with Paul about it, we both agreed that the people are really starting to become much more responsive during the service. We still suffer from the typical punctuality bug that many churches face (possibly more noticeable when there's only 200 people), but the congregation is getting better.

We sung Brenton Brown's "Adoration" again. The people are really embracing this great song. Again I had to retell the story to a couple that approached me at the end of the service as to "where they could get that song." See here for an explaination, but go HERE to buy it or HERE to listen to it.

All that said, here's how the service went down.

Communion
Adoration – G

Response
The Stand – A

Before the people responded after communion, I encouraged them to reflect on the elements that were just taken. I explained how one of the greatest reponses to the sacrifice on the cross is worship...so what a blessing it is to have this immediate opportunity we have to partake in the communion and then respond in songs of worship to our God.

It's always affirming to see people connect with what you say and then see it directly effect there time of personal and corporate worship to follow.

Overall, a great Sunday! Praise the Lord.

Our God Saves is coming soon to my set list. I'm also bummed that I can't find Brenton's new CD.
